What is the Series 7?

The Series 7 is an exam that, when passed will license you as a registered representative for an NASD firm. It is a 250 question multiple choice test. The test covers a wide range of securities. It is the largest securities representative exam, as far as content is concerned. The test has evolved over the years with more content being covered.

Format of the exam
 

The Series 7 exam is given by Prometric Learning Centers. You can view the exam center locations on our links page. Look for NASD test center locations. It is a multiple choice test given in 2 parts.

The exam can be reserved Monday-Saturday for most centers. The Series 7 is 250 questions. You will be given 260 questions. There are 10 experimental questions (5 on each half) that do not count towards your score. The NASD does this to several tests. Your score is given right away. 70% is passing or 175 questions answered correctly, out of 250 scored.

Series 7 Study methods and techniques

As with any large exam, consistant studying is very important. Although our students pass at an above average rate (over 85%), this exam should not be taken lightly. You can prepare very well using the AIT books alone. These books come with a large amount of practice questions. It is recommended that you get our 7000 question and answer CD test program as well. The books and CD combination will give you the best chance of passing the exam fast the first time.
